Private Coaching

Here at EGA, we take pride in the extensive and diverse knowledge that our coaches bring to our community. Private training is an option that gives you the ability to work one on one with our coaches in order to train and improve any area of your health and fitness. You can schedule one or multiple sessions, and arrange them during a time that works best for your schedule. Private training can help you develop or improve a specific skill, set and achieve goals, and develop accountability.

I’ve been doing and coaching CrossFit for over 5 years.
In that time, I’ve worked with everyone from grandmothers to high level CrossFit athletes.
I take pride in helping all of my athletes achieve their goals, no matter how big or small.
I’ve coached 2 Individuals and 4 Teams to Regionals since 2012.

Nathan Royster

BS in Exercise Science from Utah State University

I’ve been doing CrossFit since 2012 and coaching since 2014
I played 4 years of college football as a defensive end for Utah State University (2006-2010)
I discovered my passion for CrossFit working at the San Francisco VA Medical Center as a nursing assistant. Most of my patients weren’t in the hospital nursing old war wounds, the large majority of my patients were simply morbidly obese. After losing 60 pounds myself post college football and discovering clean eating, I recognized that I could serve people better by preventing them from ever ending up in a hospital in the first place.

I’ve been doing CrossFit since 2012 and coaching since 2015.
I’ve been a personal trainer for 15 years and have trained people of all ages, skill levels, and health situations. I’ve worked with everyone from high school and collegiate athletes seeking to improve performance, to people just looking to get into better shape, as well as clients with disabilities and physical ailments such as heart surgeries, strokes and individuals recovering from cancer.

Aaron Castillo

BA in Kinesiology/Physical Education from Long Beach State University
CrossFit Endurance Certified

I’ve been doing CrossFit and coaching for 5 years.
I currently serve as the track & running coach for 200 active members of the Oakland Triathlon Club
I’ve also had the privilege of coaching CrossFit Games-level athletes, including the 2015 Fittest Man on Earth (Masters 60+), Steve Pollini.
I specialize in developing increased stamina and maximum VO2 capacity, which in turn, allows my athletes to go faster, longer and therefore see greater athletic gains.
My training philosophy is simple, “less is more.” I believe in spending more time focusing on skill and technique over the traditional endurance training methods of high volume, long distance workouts.
